HDR is a leading engineering firm focused on power and infrastructure, inviting you to join as Substation Technical Specialist. You will perform engineering assignments under a licensed engineer, prepare one-line diagrams, protection schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation calculations, and coordinate with CAD drafters.

Qualified candidates have at least 5 years of electrical engineering experience, an associate degree in engineering or related field, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and

• Associate degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in the discipline to be supported.
• Aptitude and hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline.
• Knowledge of industry standards applicable to the discipline.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium and High Voltage).
• Prepare calculations, design sketches and redline drawings.
• Work with Electrical CAD Drafters and Designers to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
• Develop design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, and substation grounding.
