Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in the Reno/Sacramento, CA area is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead and execute complex substation projects. The role emphasizes QA/QC, studies, calculations, and drawing reviews across civil/structural, physical, and P&C designs.

You will coordinate with project managers and technical leads, guide junior engineers, and manage design services through from proposal to energization, including procurement support.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in substation design or related electrical power projects.
• Knowledge of IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AWS, ASCE 113, NESC; IEEE standards a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% within the continental U.S.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred; reciprocity in multiple states possible.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex substation engineering projects.
• Perform studies, calculations, and detailed design reviews for substations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and technical leads.
• Direct a technical project team in steel/concrete analysis and detailing.
• Review design studies including grounding, protection & control drawings.
• Support energization, construction bidding and field construction activities.
