Job summary

Clear. is seeking an experienced Substation Design Engineer to deliver high-quality substation designs for utility and power delivery projects across the United States. The role involves developing designs from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.

You will coordinate with engineering, project management, and utility teams, producing drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for medium- and high-voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Substation design experience on utility/power delivery projects.
• Experience with medium/high-voltage electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of substation design principles and equipment.
• Experience producing drawings, calculations and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical substation designs for utility and power delivery projects.
• Produce and review electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and documentation.
• Design and coordinate substation layouts, grounding, cables, protection interfaces.
• Interpret client requirements, utility standards, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, and other disciplines.
• Perform technical reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
