Job summary

Premier Power Maintenance is seeking a skilled technician to execute mechanical and electrical tasks on substations used in power transmission and distribution. You will assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and install components per codes and company policies at customer sites.

You must read manuals and schematics, operate field equipment, and participate in maintenance outages. Travel and overnight work may be required; overtime and outdoor work are common.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in electrical substation construction.
• Military experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to install electrical apparatus according to manufacturer specifications.
• Power cable installation—duct banks, trenching, conduit, cable pulling, splicing, terminations, grounding.
• Circuit breaker installation—conductor fabrication, control wiring, gas filling, grounding.
• Protective relay panel installation—wire designations, labeling, terminations, cable tray assembly.
• Substation installation—buss welding, grounding, and steel erection.
• Transformer assembly—bushing, radiator, oil, and arrestor installation; oil processing.
• Operate bucket trucks, line trucks, digger trucks, excavators, trenchers, cranes, hydraulic crimpers, cable pullers, welders.
• Participate in preventative maintenance outages and weekly safety trainings.
• Willing to relocate within 60 miles and travel for multi-day projects.
