Job summary

Premier Power Maintenance is seeking an experienced field technician to execute complex electrical work onsite at customer facilities, including testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs of electrical apparatus. Duties include troubleshooting, training, LOTO, and report writing to ensure safety and reliability.

Candidates should have extensive knowledge of NETA standards, be able to travel overnight, work overtime, and relocate within 60 miles of the regional office.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; engineering degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly and commissioning.
• Ability to achieve NETA level III or IV within 6 months of employment.
• Project management experience and ability to support planning, scheduling and cost management of field projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical/mechanical tasks on power transmission, distribution, and generation equipment at customer facilities.
• Read manuals and schematics to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
• Lead testing: transformer, cable, circuit breaker, and relay testing.
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Plan safety meetings/training and support field project planning and costs.
