Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Construction Manager-Substation on a 1-year contract to oversee projects for our client. You will review project outcomes, capture lessons learned, and emphasize safety compliance and site discipline.

The role requires coordinating with engineers, contractors, and team members to ensure timely completion while enforcing safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices.
• Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stays on track.
• Familiar with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits.
• Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.
• Perform material procurement and material take offs.

Responsibilities

• Work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
• Communications with direct reports to enhance teamwork and report issues.
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction.
• Turnover and support Commissioning efforts through energization.
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audits construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.
• Maintain open communication with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project.
• Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.
• Experience leading construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.
