WSP USA is offering a full-time Structural/Civil Engineering Internship (Substation) at our Duluth, GA office. The 12-week summer program starts May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date for individual interns. You will work alongside senior staff gaining hands-on experience on real substation projects.

The internship focuses on developing technical, social, and ethical skills, while exposing you to project research, field work, and design calculations. Authorized to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
  • Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and ability to communicate ideas professionally to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Apply structural engineering principles to design structures and foundations for substations.
  • Assist with project research, field work, and design calculations and analysis.
  • Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
