NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is seeking a Civil/Substation Engineer to review high-, medium-, and low-voltage substation civil designs for AVANGRID networks, with a focus on NYSEG and RGE projects in NY. You will write specs, maintain design libraries, and collaborate with project teams to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

The role emphasizes standards development, environmental civil, structural considerations, and coordination with regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited college/university is required.
• 3+ years’ engineering experience.
• Specialized advanced training or graduate degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Review HV/MV/LV substations civil design for AVANGRID Operating Companies.
• Develop substation design standards and libraries; write engineering specs and BOMs.
• Solve complex substation engineering problems with innovative solutions.
• Represent AVANGRID in industry associations and interact with regulatory entities.
