Job summary

Ulteig is seeking CADD Technician Interns for Summer 2027 in the Substation Department. The internship offers hands-on drafting experience, developing construction drawings for protection, control, and physical design, with mentorship from experienced CAD professionals.

You will learn to read electrical drawings and layouts, collaborate with engineers, and contribute to project deliverables while gaining real-world utility industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently completed a two-year drafting/CAD program.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of MicroStation or Revit is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with redline/greenline drafting workflows is a plus.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical drafting assistance for electrical substation projects.
• Develop construction drawings for substation protection, control, and physical design.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare plan sets, diagrams, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and CAD technicians to ensure quality and consistency in drawing packages.
• Apply company standards and client requirements to project deliverables.
• Read electrical drawings, layouts, and design specifications.
