Job summary

Ulteig is seeking CADD Technician Interns for Summer 2027 in the Substation Department to build drafting skills and support project success through construction drawings.

Interns will work with engineers and designers, use AutoCAD, learn substation design concepts, and gain mentorship in protection and control systems within a collaborative environment. This paid internship provides hands-on experience with plan sets, diagrams, and design documentation and exposure to industry standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Drafting, CAD Technology/Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of MicroStation or Revit is a plus.
• Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027 at one of the office locations in the U.S.
• Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering teams with technical drafting for electrical substation projects.
• Assist in developing construction drawings for substation protection and physical design.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare plan sets, diagrams, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and CAD technicians to ensure drawing package quality and consistency.
• Follow company standards and client requirements in project deliverables.
• Learn to read electrical drawings, layouts, and design specifications.
• Contribute to a team-oriented workflow to meet project deadlines.
