Job summary

Ulteig is seeking CADD Technician Interns to join our Substation Department for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on drafting experience, working with engineers to develop construction drawings for substation projects.

You'll use AutoCAD to create plan sets and diagrams, learn company standards, and gain exposure to protection and control systems. This paid internship includes mentorship and the potential to continue into the school year.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a two-year technical degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of MicroStation or Revit is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with redline/greenline drafting workflows is a plus.
• Must be available to work full-time during Summer 2027 at one of our office locations.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting assistance for electrical substation projects.
• Develop construction drawings for substation protection and layout.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare plan sets and diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineers and CAD technicians for quality drawing packages.
• Apply company and client standards to project deliverables.
• Learn to read electrical drawings, layouts, and specs.
• Support team to meet project deadlines.
