Job summary

Ulteig is seeking CADD Technician Interns in the Substation Department for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on drafting experience, developing construction drawings for substation protection, control, and physical design, and learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative utility-focused environment.

You will use AutoCAD to prepare plan sets, read electrical drawings, and support project deliverables.

Qualifications

• enrolled in or recently completed a two-year technical degree in Drafting/CAD Technology or related field
• AutoCAD proficiency required; MicroStation or Revit a plus
• familiarity with redline/greenline drafting workflows is a plus
• US work authorization is required

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting support for electrical substation projects
• Develop construction drawings for substation protection, control and physical design
• Use AutoCAD to prepare plan sets and diagrams
• Collaborate with engineers and CAD technicians to ensure quality and consistency
• Apply company standards and client requirements to drawings
• Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings and design specs
• Contribute to a team-oriented workflow to meet project deadlines
