Job summary

ISG in North Olmsted, OH is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to support transmission and distribution projects. You will develop intelligent 3D substation models, equipment layouts, bus plans, elevations, grounding and foundation diagrams.

The role requires strong experience with Autodesk Inventor, SDS, Vault, and AutoCAD, plus GD&T and coordination with engineers. We offer employee ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Autodesk Inventor and electromechanical design.
• Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.
• Experience supporting utility clients and transmission/distribution substation projects.
• Proficiency with Inventor, SDS, Vault, and AutoCAD.
• Experience creating intelligent 3D models and construction drawings.
• Strong understanding of substation design principles and IEEE/NESC standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop intelligent 3D substation models to support safe, reliable designs.
• Create equipment layouts, bus plans, elevations, grounding and foundation plans.
• Produce construction and fabrication drawings with GD&T and standards.
• Coordinate electromechanical equipment integration across disciplines.
• Review vendor data and integrate into project designs and models.
• Support bid, construction, and as-built drawing packages in Autodesk Vault.
