Qualifications

  • Pass Level II Background clearance and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Maintain ethical, professional conduct and appropriate boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct observed urine drug screenings and document results in the EMR.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing and communicate with on-site pharmacy as needed.
  • Distribute Narcan and educate on its use.
  • Support nursing and medication services with patient information and daily clinic operations.
  • Provide respectful, confidential, and compassionate service in an outpatient setting.

Position Summary

The Substance Use Screening Specialist supports our outpatient clinical, court services, and medical teams by conducting observed urine drug screenings, documenting results, coordinating laboratory services, and assisting with daily clinic operations.

This position works directly with individuals receiving mental health and substance use services. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, comfortable observing urine drug screens, and able to maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries during sensitive interactions. Performing observed collections is an essential function of this position.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct observed urine drug screenings and accurately document results in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing and communicate with the on-site pharmacy as needed.
  • Distribute Narcan and provide education on its purpose and proper use.
  • Support nursing and medication services with patient information, messages, and daily clinic operations.
  • Provide respectful, confidential, and compassionate service in an outpatient environment.

QualificationsQualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in behavioral health, substance use, or medical treatment setting preferred.
