Helio Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join the inpatient detox program on a full-time basis. You will maintain a caseload and perform essential counseling duties, including intake, evaluation, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention and documentation.

The role features a Tuesday–Saturday schedule, competitive pay ($20.19–$24.20/hr), and a comprehensive benefits package plus a sign-on incentive up to $1,500 depending on licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have a CASAC-T or be CASAC-P eligible.
• Experience in addiction/recovery and behavioral health.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Substance Use Disorder Counselor will review of main responsibilities. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health’sInpatient Detox program.

The schedule will be Tuesday- Saturday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $1,500 depending on licensure!

Pay Rate: $20.19 - $24.20 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
• Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
• Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
• Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, associates or bachelors preferred.
• CASAC-T required or CASAC-P eligible.
• Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
• Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
