Job summary

Helio Health, Inc. in Syracuse is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join the Opioid Treatment Program on a full-time basis.

You will maintain a caseload and perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake, assessment, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and record keeping. The role offers an hourly pay range of $24.00 - $28.00, a sign-on incentive up to $3,000, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision

Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health’s Syracuse Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $3,000!

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
• Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
• Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
• Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, associates or bachelors preferred.
• CASAC-T required or CASAC-P eligible.
• One year counseling experience preferred.
• Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
• Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
