Job summary

Lifeline Connections in Bellingham, WA is seeking a Substance Use Dependency Professional Trainee to provide clinical services, counseling, and case management for clients with substance use and mental health needs. The role supports supervisory staff, manages daily treatment activities, and contributes to training and program development.

Responsibilities include leading treatment groups, developing individualized plans, documenting progress, and coordinating discharge and aftercare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology or addictions studies.
• Course work in Substance Use dependency, human sciences or related field.
• Active WSDOH SUDP credential requirements pursued (coursework).
• Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and ability to set therapeutic limits.
• Autonomy with communication to staff.
• Understanding of crisis intervention theory and addiction treatment models.

Responsibilities

• Counsels clients and provides case management.
• Assist supervision staff and Program Director in program review.
• Manage daily treatment activities for caseload and train junior staff.
• Lead treatment groups and develop discharge/aftercare plans.
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and summaries.
• Provide crisis intervention and family outreach.
