Job summary

Bangor Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Bangor, Maine, is seeking a Substance Use Counselor for its outpatient MAT program. The role requires Maine CADC or LADC, with CCS also considered, and offers full-time hours from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM Monday–Friday.

The counselor will provide individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, document care, and coordinate referrals while working within a multidisciplinary team. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social or health services field.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure documentation of patient care, treatment and incidents.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate needs and refer to other programs when needed.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Perform case management and coordinate with referral sources.
