Job summary

Groups in Memphis, TN is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions daily within a member-centered care team.

You will facilitate sessions using a structured curriculum, collaborate with care teams, and monitor outcomes to support recovery. A Master’s in mental/behavioral health or ongoing Masters program is required, with licensure supervision and strong tech skills in EMR/telehealth and Google apps. Hybrid schedule offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the mental/behavioral health discipline or enrolled in a master’s program.
• Active supervision to obtain licensure credentials (MFT/LMFT/LPC/LCSW/LADAC/LSPE, etc.).
• Experience leading group therapy.
• Proficiency with EMR, telehealth tools, and Google products.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the mental/behavioral health discipline OR students enrolled in Masters' programs pursuing the credentials in the following bullet point.
• Active or currently under supervision to obtain the following credentials: MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, LADAC level 1 & 2, LSPE, Licensed Psychologist/Psy.D. RN & LPN also acceptable with experience leading therapeutic groups & supporting documentation.
• Experience leading Group Therapy.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
