Group Counselor – Groups Recover Together

Overview: At Groups, we know recovery is possible – and no one should have to do it alone. As a Counselor, you’ll lead dynamic group therapy sessions and be a vital part of our member‑centered care teams. You’ll work in a mission‑driven environment where compassion, integrity, and human connection drive real transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2–3 one‑hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence‑based curriculum.
• Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery‑oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Active clinical license or certification based upon state regulations (LADC, CADC, LCAC, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience leading groups in a substance use treatment setting.
• Tech‑savvy: comfortable with EMRs, telehealth platforms, and Google Workspace.
• Commitment to high‑quality, compassionate care.
• Ability to work some evening hours to support member schedules.
