Job summary

BayMark Health Services' MedMark Treatment Center in Texas seeks a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through opioid use disorder treatment and recovery strategies within an outpatient setting.

The counselor will lead individual and group sessions, collaborate with medical staff, and develop treatment and aftercare plans to support lasting recovery while maintaining trauma-informed care principles.

Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in Texas.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patient population.
• Understanding of an EMR system.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling; direct service hours at scheduled intervals.
• Coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Facilitate, establish and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessments and develop aftercare/discharge plans.
• Ensure trauma-informed, effective delivery of counseling services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor Needed!

Position Overview:

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and in collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in trauma informed manner
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in the state of Texas
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
