BayMark Health Services’ MedMark Treatment Centers in Columbus, GA seeks a compassionate full-time Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted treatments and coping strategies for opioid addiction. You will conduct individual and group sessions, evaluate progress, and collaborate with doctors and nurses to improve patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes 12 Core Functions of Counseling, accurate documentation, and ongoing treatment planning within an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold CAC/CADC certification or higher.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Satisfactory criminal background check & drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Conduct initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Facilitate, establish and review with each patient the initial treatment plan.
• Ensure accurate and current clinical records in accordance with regulations for NTP clinics.
• Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Compassionate Full Time Substance Use Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

Substance use counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with 12 Core Functions of Counseling
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment
• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Current addiction/substance abuse certification, CAC, CADC I certification or above is required.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Satisfactory criminal background check & drug screen
