Job summary

BayMark Health Services seeks a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments, individual and group sessions, and crisis management in an outpatient setting in Columbus, Ohio.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and other counselors, complete assessments, develop aftercare plans, and ensure trauma-informed delivery of counseling services. Ohio licensure or credential is required; a background screen and drug test are standard.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and opioid addiction techniques.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses and counselors.
• Provide individual and group counseling; direct service hours; coordinate services.
• Establish and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Complete Bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Ensure trauma-informed delivery of counseling services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Overview

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and in collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in trauma informed manner
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
