Job summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor in Morgantown, WV. The counselor will guide patients through MAT options, perform individual and group sessions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, prior experience with chemically dependent individuals is preferred, and a respectful, non-judgmental approach to care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field required.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and opioid addiction techniques.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to support outcomes.
• Provide individual and group counseling with direct service hours at regular intervals; coordinate services in treatment.
• Facilitate, establish and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessments.

Position Overview

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and in collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patientsin trauma informed manner
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service field.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
