The GEO Group, Inc. currently seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor to assist in developing, organizing, and conducting education programs addressing drug and alcohol abuse. The role involves both individual and group counseling sessions and related program activities.

Responsibilities include delivering didactic education, facilitating group and individual sessions, and selecting instructional materials while staying updated on new developments in the field.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a behavioral science field such as Psychology, Sociology or Human Relations.
• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) certified.
• Licensed Substance Abuse Associate certification (LSAA) is required, subject to approval.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct programs for education on drug and alcohol abuse.
• Lead and participate in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Select and recommend instructional materials for the substance abuse program.
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field.
• Maintain relationships with other substance abuse professionals and organizations.
• Complete testing, assessment, and psychosocial history for incoming residents.
• Participate in related training for substance abuse.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
