GEO Reentry Services LLC. seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor to develop, organize, and deliver education and counseling for residents facing drug and alcohol issues. You will conduct individual and group sessions, select materials, and stay current with field developments.

The role emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, and professional interaction within a correctional setting. LADAC or LSAA certification is required or in progress; experience with a Twelve Step program is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in behavioral science or equivalent.
• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) or LSAA certification is required/ in progress.
• Preference for correctional setting experience.
• Knowledge of Twelve Step programs (AA/NA).
• Ability to work professionally in individual and group counseling settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and conduct programs educating residents on drug and alcohol abuse.
• Lead or co-lead didactic education, group counseling, and individual sessions.
• Select and recommend instructional materials for the program.
• Stay updated on new developments in substance abuse field.
• Maintain relationships with other professionals and programs.
• Complete testing, assessments, and psychosocial histories on incoming residents.
• Participate in related training for substance abuse and related duties.
