Job summary

The Family Initiative, Inc. in Topeka, KS, seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor to perform admission biopsychosocial assessments, obtain consent for information sharing, and guide new clients through orientation and treatment planning.

You will provide individual, family, and group counseling, follow COA accreditation standards, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with a supervisory team to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling/Psychology or related field with Kansas Substance Abuse certification.
• Must be credentialed to provide billable substance use services or seeking clinical supervision with LAC/LMAC/LCAC to be eligible to provide billable services.
• Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct admission biopsychosocial assessments.
• Obtain signatures for release of information to access KCPC.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling.
• Maintain records per State of Kansas Substance Abuse Standards and COA accreditation.
• Collaborate with Supervisor and team to ensure quality treatment.
