The Family Initiative, Inc. in Kansas is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, orientation, treatment planning, and counseling sessions for individuals and families.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling/Psychology or related field with Kansas Substance Abuse certification.
Credentialed to provide billable substance use services or seeking supervision with LAC/LMAC/LCAC to be eligible.
Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

Responsibilities

Perform admission biopsychosocial assessment and obtain necessary signatures for release of information to access client KCPC.
Provide patient program orientation, treatment planning, individual, family and group counseling, and patient education.
Follow patient through continuum of care, process discharges, and coordinate community referrals.
Complete 90-day reviews and maintain records per State of Kansas Substance Abuse Standards and COA accreditation requirements.
Maintain teamwork with Supervisor and adhere to the agency’s policy and procedures.
