Job summary

BAART Programs is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatment and to provide individual and group counseling sessions in an outpatient setting. The role focuses on crisis management, coping strategies, and progress evaluation, with collaboration among doctors, nurses and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds LCAS or CADC in North Carolina, demonstrates empathy and adaptability, and passes background

Qualifications

• Must have LCAS or CADC in NC.
• Preferred: 1+ year experience with Medically Assisted Treatment patients.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Personable, adaptable & coachable.
• Satisfactory background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews to determine service eligibility.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provide individual and group counseling; direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate services.
• Involve families and significant others in patient recovery when possible.
• Develops and participates in individual or group patient teaching projects.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Position at BAART Programs Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

The Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid use disorder. The counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, counselors will evaluate patients' progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients' therapy and treatment for the best overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Involve families and significant others in patients' recovery process whenever possible
• Develops and participates in individual or group patient teaching projects
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must have a LCAS or CADC in the state of North Carolina
• Previous experience working with Medically Assisted Treatment addiction patients for at least one year preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population

• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
