Job summary

BAART Programs, a BayMark Health Services company, seeks a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments and to guide coping strategies, focused on crisis management and recovery in an outpatient setting.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, assess progress, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow counselors to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Behavioral Science.
• Substance abuse counseling experience, preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and eligibility interviews.
• Establishes and reviews initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Completes bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provides individual and group counseling; coordinates services.
• Involves families in recovery when possible.
• Responds to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develops aftercare and discharge plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview:

The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for supporting patients through medically assisted treatments and providing techniques to manage opioid addiction. The counselor facilitates both individual and group sessions focused on crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patient progress throughout the counseling process, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and fellow counselors to help patients achieve positive overall outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Facilitates establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible
• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Other related duties as determined by the supervisor

Salary Range:

Salary ranges from $25.00 to $26.94 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training.
