Job summary

Anduril Industries in Quincy, MA is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to advance subsea robotics testing, from component level to full system FAT on AUVs. You will develop high-fidelity automated test procedures and work with electro-mechanical technicians to ensure quality as production scales.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in hardware test design, LabVIEW/TestStand, Python/Matlab, and a strong hands-on approach, with eligibility for a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, EE/Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in hardware testing and automated test systems (LabVIEW, Test Stand, etc.)
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, SHELL, or others
• Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably test design of electro-mechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment
• Are well versed with complex electromechanical systems and are passionate about understanding what it takes to make them work reliably
• Have experience developing full system test plans and know how to execute them on fast-paced product development timelines
• Have experience with programming/testing a wide range of sensors, actuators, and electrical components
• Can prototype and run your own tests, from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Build test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system checkouts to component validation.
• Develop, execute, and manage test ecosystem to de-risk hardware and meet target reliability.
• Perform hands-on, data-driven root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems.
• Design and implement semi-automated testing equipment and protocols.
• Collaborate with design/systems teams to perform risk assessments and own test deployment.
• Produce and maintain testing logs and a library of error codes for fast resolution.
• Generate controlled test instructions for technicians in MES or test systems.
• Optimize end-of-line FAT testing of AUVs.
• Design and test PCBA and electrical components with hands-on testing and rework.
