Job summary

Serco is seeking a Submarine Development Professional to join the Team Submarine COLUMBIA Program Office. You will rotate through different submarine engineering domains, engage with vendors and shipyards, and support design and acquisition decisions while pursuing a DoD Secret clearance.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical rigor, and growth within a defense-focused environment, with opportunities to learn from experienced Navy veterans and mentors.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• At least one year in an accredited university’s engineering, technology, computer science or science.
• Interest in shipbuilding.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use MS Office or similar software.
• Veteran experience in the military is a plus!
• Travel willingness up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a job rotational program to learn submarine engineering, design, research and development.
• Engage across structural systems, materials, electrical systems, propulsion, acoustics, and support systems.
• Familiarize with Submarine Shipbuilding Industry and vendors, shipbuilding activities, and program tools.
• Learn submarine construction, design, QA programs, and Navy risk management.
• Assist in timely design and acquisition decisions.
• Interface with experts and stakeholders across the program.
• Receive mentorship for resume development, interview techniques, and job search.
