General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking engineers to join the Design/Build Team in Groton, CT. Responsibilities include design studies, analysis, preliminary and detail component design, and system engineering for submarine systems such as weapons handling, thrust, hydraulics, and hatches.

Collaboration with NAVSEA, Navy labs, and vendors is essential, with occasional off-hours support. Candidates typically hold a B.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or Marine Engineering.
• 0-4 years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Experience with reading 2D drawings and 3D CAD design systems.
• Experience in designing mechanical systems/components for seawater exposure/immersion.

Responsabilités

• Perform design studies and analysis for submarine systems.
• Develop preliminary and detail component designs and system engineering.
• Review vendors' equipment and coordinate design services and cost reduction ideas.
• Interface with engineers from multiple disciplines and NAVSEA/customer personnel.
• Support off hours, weekend trouble resolution events.
