Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Entry Level Naval Architecture Engineer in New London, CT. The role supports submarine hydrodynamic and hydrostatic analyses, ship safety, and ongoing fleet support across lifecycle stages.

The candidate will contribute to concept design, detail design, testing, and in-service support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet mission needs. A BS is required, MS preferred, with 0–5 years of post-graduate experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Engineering.
  • 0–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary efforts to project how threats and technologies will impact next generation requirements and designs.
  • Integrate new designs to manage hydrostatic balance and ensure ship safety.
  • Optimize hydrodynamic performance with analytical tools.
  • Support large-scale construction, testing, and in-service phases of submarines.
  • Resolve emergent problems across the fleet.
