Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an engineering technical assistant for Manufacturing Engineering to develop fixtures and engineered procedures for submarine construction, maintenance, and overhaul. The role may be located at Eagle Park or Groton, depending on department needs.

You will support engineering in identifying methods and tools for fabricating components and contribute to facility layouts while collaborating with design/build teams and construction trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of submarine construction, test, operation, or maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering in methods and tools for fabricating and assembling submarine components.
• Develop efficient layouts for existing and upgraded facilities.
• Participate in design/build teams, review drawings for manufacturing concerns, and prepare engineered sequence procedures.
• Prepare lifting and handling procedures and drawings for rigging submarine components.
• Provide proactive construction support and interface with trades; mentor junior engineers.
