Job summary

Serco seeks an experienced Submarine Shipbuilding Improvement Engineer/Analyst to support the VIRGINIA Class program and NAVSEA activities. The role requires a DoW Secret clearance and involves coordinating with PMS450 and Team Submarine offices in the DC area.

You will lead process-improvement efforts, analyze production workflows, and drive cross-functional collaboration to accelerate efficiency, quality, and safety across submarine construction programs.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance required.
• Minimum 5 years of submarine construction or naval program experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and support DC-area requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate submarine construction.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive productivity and safety.
• Analyze production bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and cycle times.
• Manage projects from conception through completion within scope and budget.
• Use data to inform decision making and track performance metrics.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, QA, and other departments.
