Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Production Control professional to manage work orders, expedite hardware and software, and drive schedule adherence across Machine Shop Operations.

The role requires interfacing with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support groups, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, cost and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience in a trade, shipyard, military, or planning/production control.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints.
• College degree is highly desirable.
• Technical schooling or job experience in Machining, Machine Shop Operations, Structural, or Pipe.
• Previous scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Work Order management and expediting to support schedules.
• Process changes and manage work completion closeout.
• Interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, and Quality.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, schedule and process improvement compliance.
