Job summary

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in AC/DC installations required.
• Proficient with electrical systems including machinery shutdown, navigational and internal communications, PLC systems.
• Experience with termination of AC/DC and control systems.
• Knowledge of cabling installation to meet marine class society, Navy and Coast Guard regulations.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and documentation.
• Electrical formal training through an apprenticeship or comparable program preferred.
• Shipbuilding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of commissioning AC/DC and control systems preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or two years maritime experience.

Responsibilities

• Competent in marine electrical installation tasks and procedures.
• Maintain high quality termination and commissioning work to standards.
• Work from detailed electrical and mechanical drawings and instructions.
• Assist in on-the-job training with Supervisors for trades staff.
• Ensure safe work practices and adherence to safety policies.
• Meet production goals and maintain productivity targets.
• Provide constructive feedback to Supervisors/Foremen/Managers.
• Plan and set timeframes on jobs with accuracy; implement improvements.
