Job summary

Labor One Staffing is seeking Marine Electricians to install, repair, and hook up electrical services on ships. The role requires knowledge of electrical theory and the ability to troubleshoot shipboard systems (600 V and less) according to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with shipboard electrical systems
• Familiar with 600 V and less electrical work
• Knowledge of safety procedures and lock-out/tag-out

Responsibilities

• Running cables, lines and leads, terminations and connector fabrication aboard vessels
• Prepare work area, drill holes, grind metal, inspect cableways and electrical equipment
• Test internal circuits for continuity, shorts, grounds and compare with values
• Inspect mechanical parts to ensure free operation
• Inspect electrical connections including mounting bolts and screws; draw out disconnect devices
• Detect and locate grounds, open circuits and short circuits in distribution generators and systems
• Maintain and repair telephones, circuits, and associated equipment
• Install new power and lighting circuits
• Follow all safety procedures pertaining to electrical work
• Implement Lock-out Tag-out for work being performed
