General Dynamics Electric Boat offers a structured summer internship in Life Cycle Support (LCS) to engineering students. Interns will gain exposure to Fleet support functions, including Sustainment, Environmental, Safety and Configuration Management, while contributing to submarine systems analyses and design updates.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning under senior staff, with opportunities to work on Columbia Class designs and Virginia Class submarines.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil (Structural), Ocean, Marine, Electrical, Nuclear, Systems, Facilities, Energy, or Chemical Engineering.

Responsabilités

• Support existing fleet and new construction through analyses of submarine ship systems and design elements.
• Review Integrated Logistics Support products related to alterations and upgrades.
• Coordinate and issue responses to emergent fleet issues via Liaison Action Requests.
• Develop design modernization drawings and calculations for installation of new and upgraded systems.
