Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. seeks an Internal Structures Engineer I/II to contribute to the detailed design, analysis, and requirements of internal submarine structures for the COLUMBIA Class.

The role involves coordinating with designers, Navy personnel, and construction reps to ensure quality and compliance with program schedules. The engineer will perform calculations using FEA and traditional methods, support onsite shipyard interface, and advance structural concepts from conception

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering by June 2027.
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze and produce disclosures for submarine internal structures.
• Perform engineering calculations including shock, fatigue and tank analysis using FEA and hand methods.
• Support shipyard construction reps to resolve schedule-critical issues on site.
• Collaborate with designers, system engineers, and Navy personnel to optimize cost and schedules while meeting requirements.
