Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Electrical Technician to support D707 Maintenance & Modernization in Kings Bay, GA, and at other sites. You will install, test, and repair ship electrical systems, read NAVSEA drawings, and work both on submarines and in shops.

Team collaboration and strict safety and quality standards are essential. The role requires 1+ year in shipyard or Navy settings, the ability to travel up to 11 months, and the potential to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of shipyard or Navy involvement with repair, installation and/or testing of ships systems.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
• Willingness to travel to offsite facilities up to 11 months.
• Ability to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove cables in cableways in open and tight spaces.
• Apply electrical trade knowledge; read diagrams and modify power panels and transformers.
• Collaborate with team to meet quality benchmarks and schedules.
• Work with a variety of electrical components, including standard wiring and fiber.
• Use power and hand tools and electrical test equipment as required.
• Climb ladders to traverse submarines and complete tasks.
