Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Kings Bay, GA is seeking an Electrical Installer/Technician to perform installation, removal, and testing of shipboard electrical systems on submarines. You will read NAVSEA drawings and diagrams and work in both shipboard and shop environments.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year shipyard or Navy experience, ability to climb ladders, and willingness to travel to offsite facilities for up to 11 months. A secret level clearance is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
1+ year's shipyard or Navy involvement with repair, installation and/or testing of ships systems and components.
Must be able to work all shifts and climb/descend ladders.
Willingness to travel to offsite facilities for up to 11 months.

Responsibilities

Installation and removal of cables in cableways in open and tight spaces.
Read and apply electrical drawings/diagrams; modify power panels and transformers.
Work with team to meet quality benchmarks and schedules.
Handle various electrical components including wiring and fiber.
Prioritize safety and first-time quality; use power/hand tools and test equipment.
Climb ladders on submarines to complete tasks.
