Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is offering a Summer Internship in the Combat and Weapons Systems (CWS) Directorate in Groton, CT. Interns assist engineers across drawing, testing, software deployment, network development, and shipboard system installation.

Qualified applicants are undergrad or graduate students pursuing EE, CS, CE, mechanical, industrial, biomedical, or aerospace engineering. Must be 18+, U.S. citizen, and available for 8 weeks with a May–September 2027 window.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• Must have completed freshman year prior to start.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Available to work 40 hours/week for 8 consecutive weeks (May 2027–Sept 2027).
• Housing and reliable transportation are the candidate’s responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in CWS efforts including drawing/disclosure development.
• Develop and execute test procedures; test and verify hardware/software.
• Contribute to software development and deployment tasks.
• Assist in network development and system qualification.
• Support shipboard installation and testing of systems.
