Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat offers a Combat and Weapons Systems (CWS) Summer Internship in Groton, CT. This eight-week program provides hands-on exposure to submarine engineering, NPES, and cutting-edge projects supporting the Columbia Class design and Virginia Class submarines.

Interns collaborate with senior staff, assist across multiple disciplines, and gain practical engineering experience in a defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• US citizenship is required
• Must be able to pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check
• Available to work 40 hours per week for 8 consecutive weeks May 2027–Sept 2027

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in CWS efforts including drawing/disclosure development
• Develop and execute test procedures
• Assist with software development and deployment
• Contribute to network development and implementation
• Support shipboard installation and test of systems
