Job summary
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the acoustics, shock, and vibration development for submarine programs. You will design acoustic systems to meet performance requirements and support testing in the lab and in the field.
Candidates should have a technical degree with relevant experience or an advanced degree, strong communication and leadership skills, and willingness to travel to vendor sites and shipyards as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with 2+ years' experience; or
- Master's degree with 1+ years' experience; or
- Currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer at the Company.
Responsibilities
- Design acoustic systems for submarine projects to meet performance requirements.
- Conduct laboratory testing of new acoustic technology and analyze dynamic signals.
- Travel to vendors and shipyards to support testing as needed.
