Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks an Associate Subcontracts Manager to oversee assigned subcontract activities for proposals and projects, lead office teams, and champion the Subcontracts process across office and field activities.

You will develop and administer subcontracts, assist with budgets and schedules, negotiate terms, ensure compliance with owner contracts, and manage subcontractor relationships in a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA or BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, Technical or related field.
• Six (6) years of relevant experience in Subcontracts, Construction Project Management, or Procurement preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction disciplines and means & methods.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR checks).
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and manages assigned subcontracts for projects.
• Ensures subcontract documents are issued correctly and on schedule.
• Assists with budgeting and scheduling for subcontracts (man-hours, cost, milestones).
• Assists with establishment and monitoring of subcontract goals.
• Participates in meetings representing Subcontracts.
• Files documents and follows filing rules.
• Executes and manages the subcontract development process (bids, RFPs, evaluations, awards).
• Leads negotiations for assigned subcontracts.
• Ensures flowdowns and compliance with Owner contracts.
• Supports subcontractor compliance with prequalification requirements.
• Resolves claims and monitors status of subcontract activities.
• Manages strategic subcontractor relationships and closeouts.
