Job summary

The Nutrition Group seeks a Sub Food Service Worker for Johnsonburg School District. This position offers day shifts Monday through Friday with no evenings or weekends, holidays off and PTO benefits.

You'll assist in the school kitchen with cooking and food preparation, portioning, sanitation, HACCP compliance, inventory control, cash handling, and dishwashing. A positive work ethic and reliability are essential.

About the Job:

This substitute food service worker position will be working in a local school kitchen/cafeteria on an as-needed basis.

Duties may include:

• Cooking andfood preparation
• Portioning and serving food
• Sanitation in conjunction with USDA and state guidelines
• HAACP and health department regulation compliance
• Assisting to monitor costs and inventory controls
• Operating a cash register/money handling
• Manual Dishwashing/ Cleaning duties

Qualifications:

• Must obtain clearances and pass criminal background checks
• Ability to read recipes and basic math skills required
• A positive and consistent work ethic
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• A willingness to learn and grow within your position
• Food service experience preferred
• Computer literacy preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements May Include:

• Standing for long periods of time
• Sitting, pushing, pulling
• Lifting up to and in excess of 40lbs
• Walking
