Job summary

The Nutrition Group is seeking a substitute food service worker for a local school kitchen/cafeteria on an as-needed basis. Day hours are Monday through Friday with no evenings or weekends; holidays off, and eligibility for PTO and 401(k).

You will cook and prepare food, portion and serve, ensure sanitation per USDA/state guidelines, monitor simple costs and inventory, operate a cash register, and perform dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must obtain clearances and pass criminal background checks.
• Ability to read recipes and basic math skills required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cooking and food preparation.
• Portioning and serving food.
• Sanitation in conjunction with USDA and state guidelines.
• HAACP and health department regulation compliance.
• Assisting to monitor costs and inventory controls.
• Operating a cash register/money handling.
• Manual Dishwashing/ Cleaning duties.
