Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is hiring a Flux-Core Sub-Arc Welder to join our Tulsa manufacturing team. You will operate a flux-core sub-arc welder on a steel multi-sided shaft, following WPS and quality procedures. You may work solo or in a team on various shifts.

Starting pay is $29.35/hour with potential to reach $32/hour by six months, plus a $2/hour night shift differential. Candidates must pass AWS SAW and GMAW tests and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0–1 year welding experience.
• Read blueprints and use a tape measure.
• Ability to pass AWS SAW and GMAW welder operator qualification tests.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment.
• Make mathematical calculations for setup and production.
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld schedules.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload pole sections with overhead crane.
• Preheat baseplate as required.
• Apply backing weld using GMAW.
• Prep groove using carbon arc gouging or grinding.
• Operate sub-arc welder and monitor welds.
• Adjust amperage and wire speed per WPS.
• Self-inspect welds and perform rework as needed.
• Work in team or solo on projects.
